Flat vulcanizer is mainly used for vulcanizing flat belt (such as conveyor belt, transmission belt, referred to as flat belt), which belongs to hydraulic machinery. The main function of flat vulcanizer is to provide the pressure and temperature needed for vulcanization. Pressure is generated by hydraulic system through hydraulic cylinder, and temperature is provided by heating medium (usually steam, heat conducting oil, superheated water is also useful). Conveyor belt flat vulcanizer is mainly used for the formation of flat vulcanized belt, rubber plate, polymer and other flat products. It has the advantages of large unit area pressure of hot plate, reliable operation of equipment and less maintenance. Temperature is provided by heating medium (usually steam, heat conducting oil, etc.). According to the structure of the frame, flat belt vulcanizer can be divided into column flat belt vulcanizer and frame flat belt vulcanizer. According to the number of working layers, it can be divided into single layer and multi layer. According to the working medium of hydraulic system, it can be divided into oil pressure and water pressure.

In the rubber industry, the pillar flat-strip vulcanizer is an earlier type of machine. In the past, the flat-strip vulcanizer used in our country was mostly pillar structure, but now it mostly uses frame structure. Compared with the column flat-belt vulcanizer, the frame flat-belt vulcanizer has the following advantages: under a certain center distance, larger diameter hydraulic cylinders are allowed to be installed, which can reduce the number of hydraulic cylinders, and has simple structure and less maintenance; the upper cross-beam has reasonable force, the required section modulus is much smaller than that of the column type, which can reduce weight; the manufacture and installation are simple, and the pipeline configuration is concealed. The whole machine is neat and beautiful. The lateral stiffness of single frame plate of frame type flat strip vulcanizer is worse than that of vertical column, but the frame of frame type flat strip vulcanizer is composed of multiple frame plates, so the whole machine has enough lateral stiffness.
